Chiro Gun Massage Gun Review

So I’ve been trying out this Chiro Gun Massage Gun that you can get on Amazon. The price point is $100-$150 depending on the price when you get it and I think that overall, it’s a fantastic value for what you get. It’s reasonably powerful and let’s go over some of the basics before we dive into some of the major benefits.

As you can see, you get this large case with it and one of the interesting things about this massage gun is all the attachments they provide. They provide a slew of attachments in here, there must be 10-15 of them. I don't know if the average person is going to use every one of them but at least it gives you a lot of options to choose from. Another interesting thing in here is that they provide a lacrosse ball and another type of massage ball in the case here which I don’t know if that’s a great selling point to include what a massage gun a lacrosse ball, same kind of “Hey, you may need to also use this”  but they do provide that so take it as you will.

Value for Money

Now, one thing I really like about this machine is obviously the value you get for your money basically. So for about $100-$150, you can get a massage gun that’s almost comparable in a lot of ways to something more expensive like the Theragun with a price point which is usually $400-$600 depending on where you can pick it up. Now I will say, the Theragun feels premium in a lot of ways, there’s a lot more movement back and forth horizontally for the Theragun which I don’t know how valuable that actually is. I will say when comparing them that this Chiro Gun does feel almost as powerful as the Thegun if not just as powerful. So yeah, there’s that.

Noise Level

Next, let’s talk about the noise level. What I’m going to do first is turn on the Chiro Gun by flipping a switch at the bottom, you will see the battery percentage as 80%. If you press the power button again, it will turn to level 1 and when I turn it all the way up to max, to 30 speed setting, you can see that the massage pointer is kind of just vibrating and there’s a whole lot of movement back and forth.

The interesting thing when you turn the Theragun all the way up to max setting, on the other had, you can see that the Theragun has a lot more movement back and forth on the massage pointer but, it’s also much much louder so that’s something to keep in mind.

Now granted neither of these are so loud that you’re going to not want to use them, I’ve used a jigsaw, a modified jigsaw basically. There’s an article that we have on the site where it shows you exactly the parts to select and I will add the link to that article in the description. But anyways, I’ve used the jigsaw with the massage ball attachment and let me tell you that thing is very very loud. You could not use that at 11 pm in an apartment for instance, someone would call the police on you or something. But that offered quite a bit of power, this thing almost gets as far as the Theragun though. I would say the Theragun, it’s subjective I’d say at this point, provides a little bit more perception of power as far as the ability to push in and cause change in your soft tissue. At least in my opinion. But I think this gets you almost all the way there for a much lower price point so it’s something I think that you should highly consider if you’re not sure if you want something as expensive and premium as the Theragun. I’m going to have a full review of the Theragun so you can check that video in the description of this video.

Effectiveness

Let’s finally talk about the effectiveness of these tools. I’ve been doing some research because I’m curious and I have not found solid research that shows exactly what these things do compared to something like a lacrosse ball or a tool designed to point on pressure points in your body. So how effective are they for removing your aches and pains?

I will say that they distract you from your aches and pains and I will say I’ve had some good success with them. I bought these to mainly try them out and to use them for hand issues I’ve been having cause I do a lot of typing and I will say it’s effective. It doesn’t completely get away and cure the trigger points like some other techniques I’ve tried so I think it really depends. One thing it does definitely do that a trigger point tool would not do, I would say, is it really increases your blood flow. If you use this on a spot on your arm for a few minutes, even if any of the settings, you’re going to feel an effect. And especially when you’re done, you’re going to feel just a warmth throughout your arm which I believe shows that’s the blood flow going to that area so I think it’s very very effective for that.

Does it release trigger points? I’m not sure, I’m going to try them a little longer and see how it goes for that. It definitely seems like it has some effects on them, I can feel some type of release but I will say I’m not sure it’s effective as perhaps just using a trigger point tool. On a flip side, a trigger point tool is a lot of work. You need to kind of, if you’re using a lacrosse ball, you need to get on the floor maybe, you’ve got to get against the wall in order to apply some pressure or if you’re using a hand-based trigger point tool, you have to press down with your hand. And so that’s a downside, right?

It’s very very easy to use this and let it kind of apply the pressure for you. I’m not just fully convinced that it’s as effective as using a lacrosse ball or a trigger point tool. I’m going to try that out a little bit more to let you know. One area though that I do think is very effective, which I was surprised by this, is the neck and shoulders. Now either of these guns on the neck and shoulder areas is fantastic. And that’s probably because with the massage ball, a lacrosse ball or a trigger point tool that’s based on the hand, it’s harder to get in there. It’s hard to get into your shoulders and kind of dig in there. And with the neck, you wouldn’t want to dig in too hard really so it seems to me that the neck responds very well to these massage guns and stuff like that. Also, the chest area, like if you kind of massage out your pectoralis minor or your pectoralis major, then this seems to be the tool for doing that because it’s also hard to get into those parts of your body by yourself.

So yeah, I like this Chiro Gun, I think it’s a great value if you’re considering a massage gun and you’re not really sold on the idea yet, I think this is a fantastic option to get because the price is not insane. And of course if you buy it on something like Amazon, you can always return it if you don’t find it to be effective. That’s one great thing about buying products on Amazon. I highly recommend this, check it out and let us know in the comments how it goes out for you or what you think of it.

Written Review:

Whether you are an athlete, casual gym-goer, or someone who constantly suffers from pains and aches due to aging or lifestyle-related factors, we all know how relaxing massages can be for us. A few sweeps over those aching muscles can make you feel less stressed. However, for most of us, it isn’t possible to opt for an in-person massage frequently, which is why percussion massage guns have gained a lot of popularity these days. Although their effectiveness is yet to be clinically proven, numerous users swear by these massage tools and claim that they can help deal with acute and chronic muscle pain, spasms, tendinitis, etc.

Due to their growing popularity, these at-home therapy tools are now available in a wide price range and come with a lot of massage heads so you can specifically target the affected muscle group. With so many options available, it can be quite confusing to choose the right one. On our website, we have reviewed many popular percussion massage tools like the Homech massage gun and the Theragun massage gun. A detailed review of Chiro Gun Massage gun review

These are just the 8 out of the 15 Chiro Gun Massage gun attachment heads that show which muscle of the body they are best used for

Design and built

Many buyers have stated that the appearance and the built of Chiro massage gun is impressive and looks almost like the tools the chiropractors use. The gun is ergonomically designed with an LED panel having touch controls.

The 15 attachment heads may confuse you but each of them has its own purpose, which is listed in the booklet that you will get with this product. Many of them are unique; you won’t find them with any other massage guns. They are designed in a way that you can use them to hit the right spot in the right way. Initially, you will have to spend some time figuring out which ones work best for which area but once you have learned their use, you will love using the gun even at the slightest opportunity. Plus, the lacrosse balls come handy when you just want to roll them over your aching muscles without actually using the gun. You get all these at such an affordable price.

Even the case is well-built. It is a hard-shell zippered case with various pockets to hold the contents in their place while traveling. There is another small hard case inside that holds various attachment heads so you don’t lose them. The case has paddings to protect the gun and makes storage and carrying much easier.

Effectiveness

This are what are included in the Chiro Gun Massage gun and it comes with a hard-shell zippered case with various pockets to hold the contents in their place while traveling

Numerous buyers, especially athletes have confirmed that the Chiro gun massage tool is as effective as the expensive percussion massage guns such as the Theragun or the Hypervolt ones. A few have even compared its effectiveness to that of an in-person massage. We have also tried it personally and we too agree with them. However, Chiro gun offers more of a ‘vibrating massage’ whereas percussion massagers are supposed to offer you ‘punching massages’.

Watch the above video. We have explained how its head just vibrates instead of going back and forth like the Theragun massage tool does. That's what a percussion massage gun is supposed to do. It needs to penetrate deeper and punch your muscles. Chiro gun massager doesn’t really go deeper, even though the manufacturer claims it does. It provides more of a ‘generic massage’ and not deep tissue massage.

This doesn’t mean that 94% of buyers who have rated it 4 stars and above are wrong. Chiro massage gun is great for muscle sprain, tension, text neck, sciatic pain, and other problems that do not require intense, deep massages, which means most of us will like whatever it offers. But, if you are an athlete or if you are involved in serious fitness training, this gun will not be quite effective for relaxing your tensed, sore muscles and preparing you for your next session. It is also not effective for people who are into physically demanding jobs. Such people need intense massages which this gun can’t provide. TheraGun Elite or TheraGun Pro will be better alternatives (even though they are expensive).

Battery

6 hours battery life is decent, although similar products in this price range such as the Homech massage gun offer close to 10 hours of battery life. Although most buyers are happy with Chiro massage gun’s battery performance, a few buyers have stated that the battery starts to malfunction after a few weeks. For a few buyers, the battery won’t charge after a few weeks of use. For others, the gun starts to change its speed on its own. Only a handful of buyers have experienced this, so we will still vouch for Chirogun massage tool.

Noise

This is where Chirogun massage tool beats all its competitors. The manufacturer states that the battery of this massage gun uses advanced noise reduction technology to offer you a quiet and comfortable massage. This claim is correct. We have tested Chirogun massage gun personally. It is truly quiet even when you use it at its max speed. Most percussion massage tools are too loud.

Pros:

  • No other percussion massage tool can beat this one in terms of price, value, and quality. The two complementary lacrosse balls can cost around $15 if you buy them separately. Plus, no other massage gun offers 15 different attachments.
  • Quieter than most expensive massage tools. As you can see in the video review above, this gun doesn’t make excessive noise like Theregun or Hypervolt, so you don’t have to shut it off before speaking to someone.
  • The ergonomically designed handle makes it easier to use, even though it looks bulky. One buyer has mentioned that his 6 year old daughter uses it on his back for several minutes before feeling any tiredness in her hands.
  • Shipping is fast. The product comes well-packed and buyers haven’t reported any missing part or attachment.
  • Many buyers have stated that they feel thankful to Chiro Gun for sending some replacement gaskets with the kit, so they can use them whenever needed.

Cons:

  • Chiro gun doesn’t have an auto shut down feature. So, if you forget to switch it off, it can get overheated, which could permanently damage the device other than draining the battery.
  • While there are speed levels, as you go up, the speed starts to feel almost equal. For example; when you are at speed 15, you won’t feel much difference when you jump to 17 or 20, or even 22. This is because the difference between each speed level is very minor. This isn’t a complaint but we thought you must know because many times people get tempted by the fact that they can use it at 30 different speed levels.
  • Some buyers have stated that the instructions provided regarding the use of each massage head are inadequate. They could have been more extensive, so you don’t have to do much guesswork. Even the product video is not quite elaborative.
  • A few buyers have stated that the gun is heavier than they expected
  • Well, the customer service team isn’t responsive. Many buyers have stated that they do not answer calls and rarely reply to emails, which is obviously an unprofessional approach, especially for a good product like this.

Our Rating: 4.7/5

Our Verdict:

Chirogun massage tool is a well-built product that provides much more than what you can expect from an inexpensive massage tool like this. It is powerful enough for people who are looking for light massages but it isn’t powerful enough for athletes. Nevertheless, it is one of the best products in its niche and definitely worth buying.
