I was really excited to try out this rack! It is one of the cheapest squat stands (also known as half racks) with safety arms that you can get online.
Add to the fact that you can get it with quick shipping and the Amazon guarantee and you got yourself a damn interesting option.
The name for this half rack on Amazon is a real mouthful: HulkFit Multi-Function Adjustable Power Rack Exercise Squat Stand with J-Hooks, Spotter Arms Dip Bars and Pull Up Bars, 800-Pound Capacity.

Website/Buying Experience
- It’s available Amazon so the experience was obviously very good.
Customer Service
- It’s available Amazon so the customer service is solid. Any problems are routed through them.
Shipping
- Great! Shipped to me within 4 days!
Packaging
- Best packaging I have seen on a squat rack.
- This thing was secure AF
Tools for Assembly
- Provided wrenches are actually not bad!
- Get yourself an electric screw driver and/or a drill/driver to really level up your rack building skills
As usual, I always recommend power tools for putting a rack together!
Assembly
- Very easy assembly
- Having two people to put it together makes things easier
Here are some various pictures from my assembly:
Warranty Card
Note that you can also get some free extra j-hooks if you write a review. Good tactic by the company. Respect.
Instructions
- Instructions didn’t blow me away but it is so simple to put together it is not a problem
Wobble Factor
- It does wobble big time
- Wobble reduces as you add weight
- No holes for securing the rack to the floor
- vertical weight horns on the rack help to reduce the wobble
So if there is no weight on the rack or a lower amount of weight on the rack then this rack will wobble when you rack the bar, etc. It is not concerning though and should be expected from an entry level rack like this.
Hole Spacing
- 4 inch spacing
So unfortunately the Hole Spacing is 4 inches. This does mean that you don’t have as much height adjustability in placing the safety bars.
Weld and Steel Quality
- I saw no issue with welds
- No sign of rust
I am definitely not on expert on steel fabrication. That being said all the welds looked fine to and in looking inside the uprights I saw no signs of rust.
Upright Size
- 2.5″ x 2.5″ Steel Tubing.
The tube sizing can make it a bit awkward to find accessories that work with it.
Accessories Available
- None
I couldn’t find any accessories available for this rack.
J-cups
I wish I had a better picture but the j cups are very poor. I would replace these things ASAP.
What could be better
- Better j cups
- Longer safeties
- Holes to secure the rack
- Numbers on each hole in the uprights
Resale Value
- Poor
So in my experience the resale value on this thing is very poor. No one knows the brand and because of that I bought it for around $260 at the time and then eventually got lucky and sold it for $200.
Space Saving
This thing takes up very little space. Its amazing for people who have a limited surface area to work with.
Conclusion
So after all of this what do I think of the HulkFit Multi-Function Half Rack? Well to be honest it has a lot of faults! However, the price is amazing compared to other options out there. For less than $300 you can get a half rack that is actually acceptable.
The closest competitor to this right now is the Rep Fitness SR-4000 series. And while I would argue those are more durable racks, you will pay sometimes $200 more for it when you factor in the shipping.
So yeah, for the price and the amount of VALUE you get, this thing can’t be beat!
Just don’t expect for it to safely handle anything over 350 pounds, in my personal opinion.
