Titan X-3 series folding squat rack provides everything you can expect from high-end products such as Rogues’ but at a much lower price

Titan T3 series folding squat rack

That's exactly why Titan Fitness has gained a lot of popularity during the pandemic when people are looking for affordable home gym equipment for setting up their own workout space.

The X-3 series wall mounted squat rack is made of 3″ X 3″ 11 gauge steel and is rated for 1100 lbs. Numerous buyers have agreed that it is pretty beefy, almost indestructible. The manufacturer hasn't cut corners just to make it more affordable than other competitive products such as REP PR-4100 folding squat rack and Fringesport Retractable squat rack. Its overall best quality has surpassed the expectations of the buyers.

Talking about the hardware; it uses 5/8″ bolts, which is pretty standard for all good quality squat racks, except the ones that are meant for bodybuilders. Those racks have huge 1″ bolts. But you don't actually need such a heavy-duty rack and less you are a powerlifter practicing for competitive Sports.

The Titan X-3 series foldable squat rack comes with laser cut holes having Westside spacing between them in the benching zone.

Westside spacing is basically one-inch gap between the holes. This closer spacing enables you to make precise adjustments. This article has more details on what Westside hole spacing is and why it is so important

The laser-cut holes are nothing fancy but they help provide more accuracy, so you don’t face compatibility issues while buying add-ons. Plus, they make adjustments easier and faster.

The entire rack is powder-coated, which makes it more resistant to scratches and corrosion. So if you are planning to set up an outdoor gym or a garage gym or a basement gym, this folding squat rack is going to last longer than the other cheaper options.

The folding mechanism is simple but takes about a minute

That's because you need to add/remove the pull-up bar whenever you want to unfold/fold the rack. The pullup bar is a quick-attach type, very similar to the one that you get with the Rogue Monster Lite series foldable squat racks

The Titan X-3 series folding power rack has 4 pins and 4 hinges for ensuring seamless foldability. You just have to lift all the pins, swing the uprights in whichever direction you want, and then lock them using these pins. The process is pretty simple. And, when flushed against the wall, the rack comes out about 5”, so it doesn’t block much floor space.

You can customize the depth and height

As mentioned above, you can choose between 21” and 41”. More depth gives you the flexibility to adjust your bench and exercise comfortably from all positions. However, if you don’t have enough depth, you can go with the smaller one. Similarly, the shorter rack is designed for basements and low-ceiling areas whereas the taller one is great if you want to do kipping and other bodyweight exercises.

You get absolutely no assembly instructions, so if you are not good with tools, you may have to hire someone to install it for you

Buyers feedback on poor assembly instructions of Titan X3 series folding squat rack

This is the only major flaw that we could find in the Titan X3 series folding power rack. The Assembly manual you get is basically a pictograph with no detailed instructions on how to attach it to the wall. The company hasn't even listed measurements for the stringers or wood that you may have to buy from a hardware store. Plus there is no information provided regarding the size of the bolts and screws that you may have to buy for attaching a stud.

Titan Fitness has been receiving numerous complaints and negative feedback and almost all of them are related to poor assembly instructions and poor shipping and packaging. It's high time the manufacturer should think about seriously addressing these issues. If a buyer is spending $400 on this foldable Wall mount rack, the least he would expect is proper assembly instructions and all necessary hardware so he doesn't have to go brainstorming.
If you are fine with these issues, you can either hire a professional to install it or maybe do it yourself if you have basic assembly skills. Even if you hire a professional the Titan Fitness X3 series foldable wall mounted squat rack will still be much cheaper than the Rogue Monster Lite series foldable wall-mount squat rack.

Wrap Up

We would have happily given a 5 out of 5-star rating to the Titan X3 series folding power rack had the manufacturer bothered to provide the necessary hardware and instructions needed to mount the rack on the wall. Well, hardware is manageable because that’s the extra things you will need in case you want to add a stud. But, not providing dimensions and clear instructions is quite annoying.

Nevertheless, as we said above, if you can do some brainstorming or maybe you can hire a professional, this foldable squat rack will be more than enough for your home gym.

That’s it for this article. Before you go, you may be interested in the PELLOR Forearm Wrist Trainer and Cable Pulley System and a 55 lbs barbell that can help you use this foldable squat rack in many different ways.
