Titan Fitness is a renowned home gym equipment brand known for manufacturing budget-friendly yet quality equipment. We highly recommend Titan gym equipment to people who do not want too many bells and whistles but they definitely want products that are safe and functionally good.
Many buyers often find it difficult to decide between T2 and T3 series of products by Titan Fitness. Basically, the T2 Titan exercise machines are for entry-level fitness trainers. Don’t worry, they are solidly built and affordably-priced. The T2 series squat racks for sale have a low weight-bearing capacity but they are enough for beginners.
The T3 series Titan Gym equipment are better than the T2 products in terms of quality, weight-bearing capacity, and stability. Many of them have several useful features that T2 series Titan Exercise machines don’t have. As you can expect, the T3 products are a bit pricier and are suitable for intermediates and advanced trainers.
We have tried a number of T2 and T3 series products from Titan Fitness, so we can confidently claim that this brand has never disappointed us. Whether it is the Titan Fitness Economy Olympic Bar, Titan T3 Series Squat Stand, or the Titan T-2 Series Power Rack; all the Titan Exercise Machines that we have tried personally and reviewed on our website have always exceeded our expectations. We wouldn’t say that they are absolutely flawless. But, they do exactly what they are supposed to do and that’s something appreciable because lots of cheap Chinese stuff available these days are useless and unsafe.
We recently got a chance to try the Titan Fitness T3 series independence squat stand. Just like other Titan Fitness products, it has its own set of flaws. But, its sturdiness, stability, and build-quality is as good as the Rogue Independent squat stand that we reviewed in our last blog.
As obvious from its name, this Titan squat stand has independent uprights, which makes it a better alternative for people who cannot have conventional squat racks like the T3 power rack due to space issues. If you are looking for a budget-friendly portable squat rack and the Rogue independent squat stand doesn’t fit in your budget, this one will. The quality of both these products is almost the same, although Rogue Fitness squat rack has finer perfections that the Titan Fitness products miss.
Below is our Titan T-3 independent upright squat stand weight rack review. We have mentioned the word ‘honest’ here because we at Home Gym Strength have used it personally for weeks. We have listed our personal experience with the product here, which is obviously more reliable than other reviews which are just reworded versions of the instruction manual.

Juts like all Titan Fitness products, the Titan T3 series squat stands are solidly built with a 2″ X 3″ 11 gauge steel frame, which is rated for 1000 lbs. Its build quality can be compared with that of Rogue and yet, it is much more affordable. The large H-shaped base provides minimum possible wobble but do not hesitate to weigh them using sand bags or weight plates. The Westside hole spacing pattern enables you to make micro adjustments so you don’t have to compromise with your form and comfort. The only major issue we could find with this product is poor shipping and packaging, which is anyways a common issue with all Titan Fitness products.

- Comes with an optional pullup bar, which you can attach to the uprights using locking pins. Although this is a great thought, we wouldn’t recommend it. Well, Titan fitness T-3 series independent squat stand is pretty stable (read our comments below). But, we just don’t trust independent squat racks enough for pullups.
- Comes with a pair of UHMW plastic-lined J cups. Spotter arms are missing, which is understandable at this price range. But, you can buy them separately. Here is the link to spotter arms for the Titan T3 power rack.
- Comes with all necessary hardware for assembly. Easy to assemble. One team member was able to assemble it by himself but additional help is always better.
What we love about Titan Fitness T-3 series independent squat stand
Stability
Just like the Rogue independent squat stand we reviewed in our last blog, this one too has an extremely stable H-shaped base. The ends of the base are covered with rubber feet to protect your floor and to enhance its stability. Weight pegs are missing, which we guess, is common with all independent squat racks for sale.
Titan Fitness sells additional accessories including weight plate holders for its T3 series gym equipment. We haven’t tried them and we are not sure if you can use them for the independent Titan T3 squat stands. Moreover, you don’t really have to weigh it down unless you are lifting very heavy weights. Plus, if you intend to use the pullup bar, make sure you weigh the stand down in whatever way you want.
Durability
Don't let the price of the Titan T3 squat stand fool you. Although it is unbelievably cheap, each part of it is made of high-quality 11 gauge steel, which is kind-of gold standard for almost all good quality squat racks for sale.
The 11 gauge steel frame indicates that it can withstand rough use (and some abuse too). Cheaper squat stands are usually made of 12 or 13 gauge steel, which isn't strong enough for heavy-duty workouts but they are good for beginners. The steel frame dimensions are 2” X 3”. Most other squat racks for sale in its price range have 2” X 2” frames, which means the Titan T3 squat stand is thicker, stronger, and more durable than the competitively-priced alternatives.
7 gauge Steel squat stands are available too but they are quite expensive. Moreover, such heavy-duty squat racks are meant for commercial gems and high level Sports facilities.
We are not athletes and we don’t lift a lot of weight, so we can’t claim if it can handle 1000lbs of weight but we had absolutely no problem lifting 350-400lbs.
Westside hole pattern
Westside hole pattern is a rare feature in squat racks for sale under $400. However, Titan Fitness has managed to provide 1 inch hole spacing in its Titan T3 squat stand. The 1″ spacing makes it safer and more comfortable for bench work with heavy weights.
What we didn’t like about Titan T-3 independent upright squat stand weight rack w/ pull up bar
Honestly, we don't have any major complaints about the Titan T3 squat stand. In fact, we love it!
However, we want Titan Fitness to improve its packaging and shipping. As you can see in the above image, we had received a severely beaten up package. The ends were not sealed, exposing the Titan squat stand to humidity and other weather conditions. Thankfully, ours wasn’t damaged but numerous buyers have complained that they did receive scratched, dented Titan gym equipment only because they were not packed well, and, of course, weren’t handled carefully while shipping.
Aesthetic issues can be ignored because squat stands will ultimately get scratched and dented with time but buyers obviously don’t expect to receive damaged products.
