One of our team members has recently put up a home gym on the second floor of his home. We all helped him put it together and it kept us really busy for weeks figuring out how to protect the floor, how to choose the right soundproofing solutions, which equipment should he use so his family doesn’t get distrubed, how should he keep the weights so they do not damage the structure of the house, etc.
Wondering how it is relevant to this article, which is basically a review of the xFyro ANC Pro?
That's because he wanted to use these earbuds instead of buying an audio system, which obviously will disturb his family downstairs.
Is xFyro ANC Pro good enough for home gyms?
xFyro ANC Pro earbuds are the third products from xFyro, the Chinese-American company that gained a lot of eyeballs for its Aria TWS earphones. They are the first product that uses AI for providing active noise cancellation (ANC). xFyro ANC Pro earbuds are IP67 certified water-proof, which is exactly what we needed so they can hold up just fine while we are sweating in the gym or jogging outdoors when it's drizzling.
With a 100-hour battery life and intelligent ANC feature that lets you hear 6000+ unique sounds (doorbell noise, car honk) without interrupting your music and blocking all other important background noise (the noise of the blender or washing machine), xFyro ANC Pro earbuds appear to be the most promising alternatives to Apple Airpods.
Unfortunately, despite having all the latest features and utilizing the best possible technology so far, xFyro ANC Pro earbuds failed to provide ‘crystal clear’ audio quality. Rather, the audio quality is just above average. It seems the manufacturer was more interested in developing its Active Noise Cancellation feature than improving the sound quality, which is above everything in an earbud.
So, yes, we aren’t impressed with xFyro ANC Pro Earbuds’ sound quality but the features are really impressive, especially the AI-powered selective noise cancellation. In fact, they are much better than what you can expect from other earbuds in this price range.
Here is our detailed xFyro ANC Pro Earbuds Review, which will help you understand what to expect from it.

- What’s included in the box: a pair of earbuds, a USB-C charging cable, a charging/storage case, three replaceable eartips, and an instruction manual
- You can pair it up with Google assistant and Siri to make calls, surf the web, etc.

- 100-hour battery life
Read below for a more detailed explanation of these features.
As you can see in our xFyro ANC Pro earbuds review video above, the carrying/storage case has a matte look and seems like it is made of cheap plastic. We don’t expect it to last more than a few drops. At a $150 price point, we had expected something better.
The case has a reset button and light indicator in the front. The charging port is at the bottom, as expected. The case is bulky but you can still carry it in your jeans pocket. But, we don’t think it will fit the pockets of women’s jeans. Now, this is what you should think about while buying it.
The earbuds are ergonomically-designed as per the manufacturer, so they should fit well in your ears and they actually do. You can change the eartips to get the most secure fit.
The design of the earbuds very much mimic the Apple Airpods Pro. Watch our video review above for a detailed comparison. As mentioned above, the buds can survive sweat, splashes, rain, etc. but you shouldn’t submerge them in water.
AI-powered Active Noise Cancellation
This is the main-selling point of xFyro ANC Pro earbuds.
Almost all mid-priced earbuds provide noise cancellation features i.e. they help block external noise, so you don’t get disturbed while listening to your favorite song or talking to someone while walking. But, what if you don’t want to miss some sounds like a car horn sound or a doorbell sound?
That’s what the AI-powered ACN of xFyro ANC Pro earbuds does. It is a program that can recognize more than 6,000 sounds and categorize them as critical noise and non-critical noise. The critical noise such as alarms, people talking directly to you, etc. will not get blocked i.e. they will pass through the speakers whereas the non-critical sounds will be blocked.
Now, that’s a remarkable feature. Our team member can’t hear the sound of the vacuum cleaner and air conditioner but he can still hear doorbells and the questions that his kids come and throw at him occasionally. He doesn’t have to turn them off or take them off.
Is the noise-cancelling power of xFyro ANC Pro earbuds more than Apple Airpods Pro?
That's what the manufacturer claims. The xFyro earbuds have ANC power of 30dB whereas that of Apple airpod is 20 dB.
So, obviously we expected it to provide better (or at least the same level of) noise cancellation than the Airpods Pro. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. We could still hear the background noise even when we had chosen the total noise cancellation mode. The ambient noise was much less distracting though. If we have to rate it, we would give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars whereas we would rate airpods as 4.5 out of 5.
Now, please note that 3.5-star rating i.e. its noise cancellation power isn’t that bad. It would be unfair to expect anything more from xFyro ANC Pro earbuds because, in the end, they are cheaper than the airpods.
To activate AI ANC, you need to choose the transparency mode. If you don’t need ANC, you can switch to the standard mode. If you want total noise cancellation, you can choose the no-ANC mode.
xFyro ANC Pro earbuds pick up the noise of the wind
Before writing this review, we thought we should try it outdoors too, so we can be totally fair. Our team member went out for a jogging session and he realized that these earbuds do not block the noise of the wind. Rather, at times the sound of the wind was so overpowering that he couldn’t focus on the music.
We tried Apple Airpods to see if they too have the same issue but the Apple one’s worked just fine. We could still hear some whooshing sound of the wind but it was negligible.
If you are planning to buy them for outdoor activities, do keep this in mind.
Battery life of xFyro ANC Pro earbuds
xFry boosts of a 100-hour battery, which is probably the longest possible so far. The earbuds can last upto 8 hours when active noise cancellation is used and 10 hours without ANC. The case holds another 90 hours of life.
We have used them for approximately 6.5 hours and there seems to be some charge still left. So, we conclude that the battery does last long. Plus, the case has quick-charging features which means the earbuds get completely charged in just 15 minutes. The case needs 2 hours for a full charge.
As we mentioned at the beginning of this review, xFyro ANC Pro earbuds do not provide as good audio quality as we had expected. The quality is rather average. The audio quality isn’t bad but at a $150 price point we had expected it to be better.
The manufacturer has positioned xFyro ANC Pro earbuds as a premium quality product but also claims that it is much affordable as compared to Apple Airpods.
The price of these earbuds keep varying widely. The last time we checked, it was around $150, which is much less than the Apple airpods but it has too many cheaper competitors that are equally good. For example; SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds Live also provides ANC and has a much better audio quality as compared to the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds. If we have a $150 budget, we would rather go with it. If you are looking for even cheaper options, you can go with HUAWEI Freebuds 4i Wireless Earbuds, which are no different from this one.
What we want to say is that xFyro ANC Pro earbuds are not worth their price. They shouldn’t cost you more than $80.
Don’t get us wrong; xFyro ANC Pro earbuds are decent products.
Just that they are not as good as they could be, yet.
We basically wanted these earbuds to listen to music while exercising in our home gym, so we don’t disturb our family members plus we don’t get disturbed by their noises. It works for us but we expected something better because our team member has invested heavily for his home gym on the second floor and we are not ready for him to settle for less.
As you can see in the image above, the gym is still under construction. We have helped him source horse stall mats from Tractor Supply Co because they provide excellent cushioning. Plus, they absorb most of the vibration, so the kids don’t get scared.
Plus, as you can see in the image, he has used adjustable kettlebells to maximize floor space. The space of the room wasn’t enough to accommodate a full-size power rack, so he has settled for squat stands instead.
We will soon be reviewing other earbuds. So, keep reading our blog!
