Rip Toned Lifting Straps Review

Wondering if the Rip Toned Lifting Straps are any good!? I bought these straps on Amazon and have been using them for the past few months for front squats and deadlifts.

To sum up this entire review in one sentence: These are solid lifting straps at a great price. I do think they could be a bit longer and maybe a bit more grippy on the rubber part that grips the bar.

Rip Toned Lifting Straps Review
Lifting Straps doing their thing, looking good.

This review is going to be short as there is just not a lot you can say about lifting straps!

I have been mainly using these for front squats to make it easier to get the wrists into the proper position and keep the arms up. These straps seem to work really well for that.

Overall here are my thoughts on the Rip Toned Lifting Straps and Lifting Straps in general:

  • These Lifting Straps work great for front squats but I do think they could be longer and grip on to the bar more.
  • I used them a bit for deadlifts and Romanian deadlifts but I just don’t think regular lifting straps are the best option for this kind of thing. Instead you should look at figure 8 lifting straps or hook straps. (reviews coming soon)

Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Recommendation: A very solid lifting strap. Buy it if you need straps for front squat positioning. Otherwise, look at something else like hook straps or figure 8 lifting straps.
Pros: Solid construction. Great price.
Cons: Could be longer and grip better. More importantly there are better options out there than traditional lifting straps.
Summary: Buy if you need it for front squats or just love traditional lifting straps.
