What are weightlifting shoes?
Simply put, weightlifting shoes are specifically designed to support mobility, increase the natural platform feedback, and enhance the stability of the lifter during the lifts. Weightlifting shoes are often called lifting shoes or lifters and there is a reason why they are increasingly becoming popular among weightlifters. Of course, professionals always try to get the perfect pair but they can even benefit someone who is just starting out.
The key difference between running shoes and weightlifting shoes is the elevated heel. The elevated heel featured on a weightlifting shoe is capable of providing a solid base for the lifters and enhances the mobility. A stable heel will result in a firmly planted foot during a lift thus giving the lifter the required confidence to make the right moves. Each lifter prefers a different heel height so you may want to experiment with a few sizes before you settle down on what works best for you.
The best weightlifting shoes also come with either a leasing or a strapping system. Both of these systems provide foot security and instill a sense of confidence and stability in the lifter. Personally, I’m more comfortable with double straps but BOA lacing is also secure. Some lifters prefer the single straps on their weightlifting shoes which enhances mobility but also decreases the security just a tad bit.
Why do you use weightlifting shoes?
There are 2 major reasons why you would use one of the best weightlifting choosing 2019:
· You are a professional who is looking to enhance their weightlifting game.
· Or you are a beginner that wants to keep the perfect form and hold it down during lifts.
Both reasons are perfectly valid and a good pair of weightlifting shoes will provide both during lifts.
How we Evaluated the Weightlifting Shoes in our Review?
Just like always, we did ample research and found the best weightlifting shoes in 2019 available in the market. Then we further honed the list down from 20 to 10 and ordered them in our size. A point to be noted here is that we only ordered them for one person so that the reviewer gets the chance to try them all out himself. And by reviewer, I mean me, the person who is penning down the review. Then we simply tried them on and evaluated them on different factors, stability, security, mobility, and comfort. All of them are very important to a weightlifter and we made sure to cover all bases.
Did I use any scientific methods? No, of course not. I simply used the shoes and rated them on how I felt. So depending on my feet size or personal preference, some shoes simply won’t work for you. Fear not, this is exactly why we have such a long list of the best weightlifting shoes of 2019.
