Most of us are aware of the benefits of cycling such as protection against or dealing with heart diseases, neurological diseases, obesity, arthritis, depression, and much more. Cycling is a low-impact workout suitable for people of all ages and all fitness levels. Even those with bone and joint diseases who aren’t allowed to do most other forms of aerobic exercise can cycle. It doesn’t strain your muscles like squats or dips, or maybe burpees. And yet, it can increase your stamina and strength.

Cycling outdoors is fun. You get to breathe fresh air, soak some sunlight, and maybe find a workout buddy next door. But, for that, you either have to wake up in the early hours or go cycling in the evening. If you can’t hit the road with your cycle during these hours, an indoor spin bike is a good alternative.

It can fit into your spare room, living room, basement, or any area of your house that you want to convert into your little workout space. Depending on your budget, you can opt for a very basic model or a feature-rich one that lets you stream workouts. Foldable spin bikes are good for people who are too tight for space.

Spin bikes are common home gym equipment so you have too many options to choose from. It could be difficult for you to choose something which best suits your needs and budget. We have narrowed down the options for you. After evaluating a lot of popular options, we have selected the below products that we believe are the best spin bikes for home gyms.

Let’s look at each of them in detail.

YOSUDA Indoor Cycling Bike

It is one of the highest-rated, mid-priced indoor spin bikes. With 35lbs quiet flywheel, this bike is suitable for home use, as it won’t bother your kids when they are sleeping or studying. The manufacturer claims that it offers an enormous amount of resistance. The quality is as good as the spin bikes used in gyms and yet, the price is very genuine. Let’s look at some of its key features:

Features:

  • Dimensions: 40.16 x 21.65 x 46.06 inches
  • Weight: 33 Kilograms
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 270lbs
  • Height-adjustment range: 25-35 inches
  • Handlebar can be adjusted to face upwards or downwards
  • As mentioned above, the Yosuda stationary exercise bike offers a large range of resistance suitable for almost everyone.
  • Has a very basic LCD monitor that displays speed, calories, distance, and time.
  • Ipad holder, pedal cage, water bottle holder, and silent brakes are some other additional features
  • Has transport wheels for portability
  • Free replacement of parts within 12 months

Pros:

  • Numerous buyers have confirmed that the Yosuda indoor stationary bikes are pretty easy to assemble. The assembly guide and the video tutorial are descriptive enough to let you assemble it without any help.
  • Almost all buyers have confirmed that this bike is pretty well-built. It doesn’t wobble even when you are cycling it at a high speed or when you are in the standing climb position.
  • Comes with an extra brake pad, so you can replace it when needed.

Cons:

  • The seat isn’t that comfortable. After about 15 minutes of use, you would feel the urge to leave the seat immediately. Well, we have never come across a spin bike whose seat can make you feel comfortable for hours. You can swap the seat or maybe add a seat cover.
  • The resistance knob doesn’t have any marks on it, so you wouldn’t know which resistance level you are using. If more than one person is using it or if you watch videos and try to match your settings accordingly, you will have to do a lot of guesswork.
  • Some buyers have stated that the seat doesn’t go down to its lowest setting. It stops at the second level from the bottom because there is a screw inside. Well, unless you are shorter than 5”, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Our Rating: 4.7/5

Our Verdict:

Yosuda stationary exercise bike is a reasonably-priced home gym equipment with a gym-grade quality. The massive resistance range makes it suitable for riders of all fitness levels. It is built to stand the test of time. Highly recommended for beginners and budget-conscious buyers.

DMASUN Indoor Cycling Bike

DMASUN spin bike has a better weight-bearing capacity and a heavier flywheel than the YOSUDA home gym bike. This bike undergoes 138 tests before leaving the factory (as per the manufacturer, which is an Italian company). So, you can expect better quality control. It is a light-commercial product but best suited for home use.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 41.35 x 21.67 x 46.16 inches
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 330lbs
  • Height-adjustment range of seat: 30-40 inches
  • Height adjustment range of handlebars: 38-48 inches
  • Flywheel: 40lbs
  • 4-way adjustable seat
  • Multi-grip handlebars
  • It offers infinite resistance that can be adjusted using the resistance knob
  • Comes with transportation wheels
  • Bottle holder, tablet holder, and a basic LCD screen are included
  • Comes with a 12-months parts replacement warranty

Pros:

  • As confirmed by numerous buyers, DAMSUN spin bike is pretty easy to assemble. The assembly instructions aren’t very well written but the process is very obvious and most buyers were able to assemble it in 30 minutes. Paid assembly available but you wouldn’t need it.
  • Its heavy flywheel helps offer whisper-quiet operation, making it suitable for homes.
  • This spin bike is heavy and sturdy. Many buyers have compared it with the $2000 Peloton bike.
  • The seat is wide and comfortable. Well, it isn’t as good as the Peloton bike but, much better than the seats of many inexpensive bikes that will make your butt go numb within a few minutes.

Cons:

  • Many buyers have stated that the LCD display isn’t reliable. Very often, it displays inaccurate results. Well, this happens because the pulse tracking pads are placed on the farthest part of the handles and you have to lean quite a bit to hold them properly. This position could be uncomfortable for many of us, especially if we have to maintain it for more than 15 minutes. Many buyers have suggested that if you have a fitness watch with an indoor cycling option, you should refer to that instead.
  • If you are taller than 5.9’, DMASUN indoor stationary spin bike may not be comfortable enough for you. The seat can be adjusted appropriately but the handlebars aren’t tall enough even at their highest setting. If you want to use this bike at its max setting, you will have to lean forward quite a bit.
  • Many buyers have stated that the seat often remains loose and wobbles back and forth. You have to tighten it really hard. This could be a problem if other members of your family will be using it too, requiring repeated adjustments.

Our Rating: 4.6/5

Our Verdict:

If you are getting a Peloton quality spine bike at a fraction of its price, you shouldn’t hesitate to buy it. But, please note that it isn’t comfortable for taller people

Bowflex C6 Bike

Priced modestly, it is a compelling alternative to the Peloton spin bike. It uses high-quality components and high-tech features such as a heavier flywheel, an armband monitor, and compatibility with numerous popular training apps. Bowflex C6 bike provides a closer-to-Peloton workout experience but, being priced close to $1000, it may not fit into our budget. If it does, do check out its features below:

Features:

  • Dimensions: 48.7″ L x 21.2″ W x 51.8″ H
  • Weight: 106 lbs
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 330 lbs
  • Flywheel: 40 lbs
  • Resistance: magnetic resistance with 100 micro-adjustable levels
  • Comes with a pair of 3 lbs dumbbells that can be stored at their respective cradles and used for upper body workouts.
  • Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with popular fitness apps such as Peloton and Zwift
  • Comes with bluetooth enabled armband heart rate monitor
  • Has a well-padded race-style seat
  • Dual-sided pedals one with toe cage and other without toe cage
  • Height adjustable range: not mentioned
  • Has transportation wheels
  • Warranty: 10 years on frame, 3 years on mechanical and electrical parts, and 1 year on labour

Pros:

  • Magnetic resistance means an absolutely quiet workout, no matter how hard you are spinning. Plus, magnetic resistance also provides a gradual and smooth resistance change.
  • The bluetooth armband helps monitor your heart rate even when you are not holding the handle. It also helps free up your hands so you can use the dumbbells while spinning. The more muscles you engage, the better results you will get.
  • Although it doesn’t come with a large digital screen, it is still compatible with almost all popular fitness apps. Place your phone or tablet in the holder and you should be able to enjoy an equally good experience. Or maybe you can place the bike in front of the TV.  Most of us have too many screens at our home. So, not having a big display shouldn’t be an issue. Rather, that’s the reason why the Bowflex C6 spin bike is cheaper than its competitors.

Cons:

  • Being an expensive spin bike, we expected it to have some preset workouts. But, it is just a basic spin bike without any focus on interactive training
  • The LCD display is very basic. But, the most disappointing thing about it is the Cadence display. It is less than half of the size of the other outputs. Some buyers have stated that it seems like an afterthought, which is again disappointing because cadence should be listed prominently in spin bikes.
  • A few buyers have stated that the replacements of broken or malfunctioning parts take weeks. Some mentioned that the replacement time they were offered was about 6 weeks! Now that’s a really long time.

Our Rating: 4.5/5

Our Verdict:

If you are looking for an interactive indoor spin bike on a budget, Bowflex C6 bike is an impressive option. Since it is an expensive spin bike plus it requires you to buy a membership of the tracking app (if you want to use them), we don’t recommend it for beginners and occasional cyclists. Unless you love cycling crazily, it makes no sense to spend $1000 on a spin bike.

Schwinn IC3 Bike

Schwinn manufactures three types of spin bikes; IC2, IC3, and IC4. The IC2 model has a 31lbs flywheel and has low weight-bearing capacity. Yet, it costs much more than IC3. We don’t find its price justified and do not recommend it, as there are many better options available. The IC3 and IC4 have 40lbs flywheel but IC4 uses silent magnetic resistance, which is why it is pricer. Here, we are reviewing IC3 because it offers the best value-for-money compared to other models. But, feel free to check out IC2, and IC4 as well.

Features:

  • Dimension: 48.7L x 21.2W x 49.8H
  • Flywheel: 40lbs
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 300lbs
  • 4-way adjustable handlebars
  • 4-way adjustable seat
  • It uses unlimited resistance friction
  • Has a very basic console that displays time, distance, speed, calories, and pulse
  • Warranty: 5 years on frame, 2 years on electronic parts, 1 year on labor

Pros:

  • Schwinn spin bikes come with adjustable, rubberized levelers for uneven floors
  • The bottle holder is made of the metal as the frame. Usually, inexpensive spin bikes have plastic holders that don’t last long.
  • What we like the most about this bike is that it comes almost assembled. You only have to put the stabilizers, the pedals, the seat, the handlebars, and done! Comes with detailed instructions plus you can watch numerous YouTube videos for reference. Some buyers have stated that it took them roughly 20 minutes to assemble it.

Cons:

  • Schwinn spin bike is usually priced around $500-$600 and yet it doesn’t have a backlit display! This is a basic feature. The manufacturer should think about addressing it because a lot of buyers have stated that they find it hard to read the display because they prefer working out in low light when their kids are sleeping.
  • Some buyers have stated that it is hard to reach the customer service team of Schwinn. They aren’t quite prompt. You may have to contact them multiple times to get your issue resolved.
  • A few buyers have stated that the bike is not absolutely quiet. It makes some squeaking noise, especially when used at a high speed.
  • If the seat is in a high position, you will have to lean a lot to get to the handles. This is because the height of the handlebars couldn’t be raised proportionately. This isn’t a major issue but if you want to use it for more than 30 minutes, leaning so much could cause back pain.

Our Rating: 4.5/5

Our Verdict:

Despite being priced modestly, there are a few minor flaws that we don’t like. For example; the display. Yet, Schwinn IC3 is a good option for people who want to go for intense spinning sessions.

Sunny Health & Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike

Please note that this spin bike from Sunny Health and Fitness (bearing model number SF-B901) doesn’t come with a console. You will have to buy a cadence, speed, and distance sensor separately or maybe you can use your fitness tracker. Since it is one of the cheapest yet top-rated spin bikes for home gym, not having a console is justified. Let’s look at some of its key features:

Features:

  • Dimension: 46.5L x 18W x 46H in
  • Weight: 102 lb
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 275lbs
  • Flywheel weight: 40lbs
  • Available in belt or chain variety. As obvious, the chain spine bike is more expensive than the belt one.
  • 4-way adjustable seat and 2-way adjustable handlebars.
  • Two-way multi-grip handlebars
  • Max seat height: 46”
  • Max handle height: 42”
  • Comes with floor stabilizer and transportation wheels

Pros:

  • It comes almost assembled. Plus, it comes with all the tools that you would need to put the final pieces together. The assembly instructions are pretty detailed but you just need some common sense and about 15 minutes to assemble it.
  • As we already mentioned above, this is one of the best spin bikes available under $300. Yes, it’s pretty basic with no fancy features that many of us love but it gets the job done right.
  • The heavier the flywheel, the smoother the spin bike will operate. Most economical spin bikes have a 35lbs flywheel but Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B901 spin bike is exceptional. It comes with a 40lbs flywheel and offers smooth workouts.

Cons:

  • Some buyers have stated that the bike isn’t quiet. It does make some noise when the resistance is increased. The noise is subtle and won’t bother you if you are watching TV. For some buyers, greasing worked while others had to return it.
  • No media rack available.
  • Doesn’t come with SPD pedals. Other bikes in this price range come with two types of pedals. If you are used to SPD pedals, you will have to buy them separately. Also note that, according to a few buyers, it isn’t that easy to replace the pedals.
  • Almost all buyers have agreed that the seat is horribly uncomfortable. Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise to us. It’s a $300 spin bike. We shouldn’t be expecting it to have a super-soft ergonomic seat. You can replace it or maybe add a gel seat cover.

Our Rating: 4.7/5

Our Verdict:

Unless you are a racer, this Sunny Health and Fitness spin bike will work for you. Of course, it has some flaws but you can’t expect anything better at this price. Plus, the manufacturer hasn’t made any compromise with the overall built and quality. Highly recommended for budget-buyers.

XTERRA Fitness FB150 Folding Exercise Bike

If you have a very limited floor space or if you have a low budget, you can opt for the FB150 foldable spin bike. The X-frame design makes it a breeze to fold and unfold it within seconds. Please note that this bike is suitable only for light cardio workouts. Let’s look at its key features:

Features:

  • Dimensions: 31.89″ x 18.1″ x 43.30″ inches
  • Weight: 32lbs
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 225 lbs
  • 3.3 lbs precision-balanced flywheel
  • Magnetic resistance with 8 resistance levels
  • X-frame foldable design
  • Heart rate monitor on the multi-grip handlebars
  • Has a very basic battery-operated console
  • Seat is 2-way adjustable with 7 adjustable positions
  • Handlebars are not adjustable
  • Has transportation wheels
  • 1-year warranty on frame and 90 days on parts

Pros:

  • Don’t judge it by its price. It is a well-built spin bike that doesn’t make noise. Numerous buyers have stated that it is ‘super quiet’ and doesn’t disturb other members of your family or even you if you want to exercise while watching TV.
  • Assembly is super easy. A 69 year old lady was able to put it together within 15 minutes and without any help.
  • The FB150 XTERRA Fitness spin bike is a really compact bike. Whether it is in a folded condition or opened, it will not occupy a lot of space to cause inconvenience. Some buyers have agreed that it can actually fit in your closet.
  • As we said above, the biggest selling point of this bike is its price. Priced around $113, this bike is exactly what we need to get a decent workout while we are stuck at home due to bad weather and the pandemic.

 Cons:

  • XTERRA Fitness FB150 spin bike is not recommended for taller people. Some buyers have stated that even if you are just 5.6’ tall, you won’t be able to use it comfortably.
  • The console is cheaply-built, small, and inaccurate. If you need accurate readings, you will have to wear your own tracking devices such as FitBit. Even the heart rate monitor doesn’t function properly
  • You cannot and must not stand on the pedals. They aren’t that durable and strong enough to bear your weight.

Our Rating: 4.7/5

Our Verdict:

It is an inexpensive yet impressive spin bike. It offers excellent value for the price, which is why more than 80% of buyers have rated it 4-stars and above. But, being an absolutely basic bike, it isn’t attractive with lots of adjustable and comfortable features. You have to be self-motivated enough to fold, unfold, and use it.

Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Exercise Bike

The XTERRA Fitness spin bike listed above weighs 32lbs and has a weight-bearing capacity of 225 lbs, which makes it unsuitable for some of us. This Exerpeutic exercise bike is a good alternative. It weighs 39lbs and can hold 300lbs of weight. Here are some of its key features:

Features:

  • Foldable exercise bike with upright sitting position
  • Dimensions: 31 x 19 x 46 inches
  • Weight: 39 Pounds
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 300 lbs
  • Has a precision-balanced flywheel with V-belt drive
  • Resistance: Magnetic with 8  resistance levels
  • 3-piece crank system to provide a smooth pedaling experience
  • Has a basic console and hand pulse sensor
  • Can be folded to ½ of its size.
  • Comes with transportation wheels
  • One-year warranty on frame and 90 days on parts

Pros:

  • Priced around $150, this Exerpeutic spin bike is one of the most affordable options for people who are not willing to spend a lot of money on home gym equipment. One buyer has claimed it to be the ‘broke girl’s peloton’ and we agree with him
  • Although being a low-cost spin bike, this product is super-sturdy. Numerous buyers have agreed that it can last for years with some basic maintenance. It isn’t flimsy with cheap plastic parts. The overall built is excellent and that’s why 90% of buyers have rated it 4-stars and above

Cons

  • Exerpeutic upright exercise bike uses a proprietary seat. If the seat breaks, you will have to buy it from Exerpeutic only as other models won’t fit. A lot of buyers didn’t like this. Its seat is huge and starts to rub against your thighs after a few minutes of spinning. Some buyers were fine with this but a few of them found it irritating and distracting.
  • Just like the XTERRA Fitness bike listed above, you cannot stand on it to cycle, which is ok because it is anyways meant for low-impact workouts.
  • The console doesn’t display accurate results.
  • The pedals are slightly forward and not in-line with your body just like in ‘real bikes’. You will feel like you are using a recumbent bike and not a spin-bike but it isn’t even a proper recumbent bike.

Our Rating: 4.6/5

Our Verdict:

The only thing that we don’t like about this bike is that the pedals do not fall in line with your body. While most buyers don’t have a problem with this, some could find it uncomfortable and may experience knee strain. Otherwise, it is a great casual home-exerciser for people who have limited space in their homes.

Cyclace Stationary Exercise Bike

This is another low-cost spin bike meant for home use. It has a triangular frame, which helps maintain its stability during intense workouts and standing cycling. It has an old-fashioned rugged construction with no fancy features but it helps get the job done right, which is why we have included it in our list of best spin bikes for home gyms. Let’s look at its key features:

Features:

  • Dimensions: 47.24×24.21×47.24 inches
  • Weight: 86lbs
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 330lbs
  • 4-way adjustable seat and 2-way adjustable handlebar
  • 36lbs flywheel
  • Has a triangular frame for extra stability
  • Adjustability: handlebars can be adjusted between 42.9” and 47.9”. Seat can be adjusted between 35” and 42.9”
  • Has an LCD screen, media rack, and water bottle holder
  • Uses friction resistance
  • Has belt-drive mechanism
  • Comes with transportation wheels

Pros:

  • Numerous buyers have appreciated the customer support team of Cyclace. They provide prompt response and do not hesitate to send replacement parts, if needed. Some buyers have got replacement parts even when their bike was out of warranty
  • It is a bidirectional spin bike, which means you can pedal forward as well as backward.
  • It uses a belt drive system, which is quieter and smoother than the chain drive spin bikes. Belt-driven spin bikes do not require lubrication, which is why they are much easier to maintain.
  • Like all other spin bikes listed here, this one too is pretty easy to assemble. The triangular stable base comes fully assembled. You will have to add the rest of the elements, which could take about 30 minutes to an hour depending on your assembly skills. All necessary tools are included but we recommend you to use your own tools if you have. This could save your time and effort.

Cons:

  • Some buyers have complained that the console displays inaccurate and inconsistent readings. The tracker is kind-of slow, so do not rely on it. Use your own tracking device if you need accurate stats. Since it is a low-cost spin bike, we could trade that off.
  • Doesn’t come with SPD pedals. You have to buy them separately. The other bikes listed above in this price range come with SPD pedals.
  • A few buyers have stated that the bike squeaks. However, they were able to get rid of the problem by spraying WD40 and spring grease. It isn’t an extremely quiet bike though.

Our Rating: 4.5/5

Our Verdict:

We hate home gym equipment that squeaks. Unless you have a dedicated area where the noise won’t bother others, don’t buy them. The Cyclace stationary bike too has squeaking problems, although only a short percentage of buyers experienced it. 87% of buyers have rated it 4-stars and above, so it is definitely worth taking a risk.

Pooboo Indoor Cycling Bike

Please note: this review is about the Pooboo D525 spin bike, which is yellow, has a 30lbs flywheel, and uses friction resistance. The Pooboo D868 is red, has 40lbs flywheel, and uses magnetic resistance. Both the products are listed together on Amazon but they are quite different; although their price varies slightly. Many buyers didn’t realize it and bought the wrong one.

Let’s look at some of the key features of Pooboo D525 spin bike:

Features:

  • Dimensions: 43.8 X 21.6 X 48.1 inches
  • Weight: 75 lbs
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 270lbs
  • Flywheel weight: 35 lbs
  • 2-way adjustable handlebars and 4-way adjustable seat
  • Adjustability range: handlebar-37-48.4” and seat- 34-41”
  • The handlebars have elbow support for added comfort
  • Comes with a basic digital console, water bottle holder, and a phone/tablet holder
  • Heart rate sensors located on handlebars
  • Comes with floor levelers and transportation wheels

Pros:

  • We love the color schemes of Pooboo spin bikes. They are bold and vibrant and look good even when you keep them displayed in your living room.
  • Easy assembly. All tools required for assembly are included in the kit.
  • Excellent customer services. That’s what most buyers have stated. Well, the sincereness and responsiveness of a brand towards customers’ issues reflect a lot about its ethics. You can buy confidently from it knowing that it will help you if something goes wrong.
  • Well, a surprising fact that most buyers have mentioned in their reviews is that the seat isn’t as bad as they had expected. It is well-contoured and cushioned for comfort. Like other spin bike seats, it isn’t going to kill your butt within a few minutes of use

Cons:

  • Some buyers have mentioned that this is a squeaky spin bike. For some, the noise was subtle but some found it really irritating and had to send it back. If you plan to use it in your living room, please note that it may disturb others.
  • The digital console displays inaccurate results and sometimes it doesn’t work at all. This seems to be a common problem with almost all inexpensive spin bikes. But, we shouldn’t complain because that’s how the companies are able to reduce the cost of their products without severely compromising the quality.
  • Some buyers have stated that the seat post wobbles even when it is tightened properly.
  • Doesn’t come with assembly instructions Thankfully, it is easy to put together with some basic common sense.

Our Rating: 4.6/5

Our Verdict:

Pooboo D525 indoor exercise bike has received an overwhelmingly positive response from buyers. 89% of them have rated it 4 stars and above, making it one of the best spin bikes for home gym. While it isn’t as great and durable as the $2000 spin bikes, we are pretty sure it won’t disappoint you.

JOROTO Belt Drive Indoor Cycling Bike with Magnetic Resistance

This is the only spin bike in our list which has four-way adjustable handlebars, which makes it suitable for both the tallest and shortest member of your family. Almost all budget-friendly spin bikes and most expensive spin bikes come with only two-way adjustable handlebars, which makes them unsuitable for a few people. The Joroto magnetic resistance spin bike is an exceptional product and offers more adjustability than the other spin bikes listed here. Let’s look at its key features:

Features:

  • Dimension: 42.9 x 19.7 x 42.5 inches
  • Weight: 94 lbs
  • Weight-bearing capacity: 300 lbs
  • Flywheel: 35lbs
  • Resistance: magnetic resistance with belt drive system
  • 4-way adjustable seat and 4-way adjustable handlebar
  • Adjustment range: handlebar- 43.3” to 48.4” and seat- 31.5” to 41.7”
  • Handlebar can be upturned to an 18 degree
  • Comes with floor levelers, a basic monitor
  • 1-year free replacement of parts
  • Has transportation wheels

Pros:

  • It is an incredibly smooth and quiet bike, as claimed by the manufacturer and confirmed by numerous buyers. Buyers who complained of squeaking noise didn’t tighten the bolts properly. If you assemble it correctly, it won’t bother anyone
  • It is pretty easy to assemble. You just have 6-7 nuts and bolts to add. We have specifically chosen those spin bikes that are easy to assemble, so you don’t have to fiddle around with a number of tools and parts.
  • As you can expect from this list of best spin bikes for home gym, the Joroto X2 exercise bike is sturdy, durable, and provides as good exercise experience as you can expect from $1000 bikes
  • Prompt and helpful customer service team.

Cons:

  • Despite being priced above $400, it doesn’t come with a backlit display. If you exercise in a dark or low-lit room, you won’t be able to see the stats displayed on the console.
  • Joroto X2 spin bike doesn’t come with SPD elements on the pedals. You have to buy them separately, which could cost you around $40.
  • The media holder and the water bottle holder are clubbed together. So, if you keep the bottle, it will block your phone. Now, this isn’t a cheap spin bike. The manufacturer could have added a separate bottle holder, which would have hardly impacted the price.
  • No cadence calculator.
  • Some buyers have complained of receiving damaged and noisy bikes. Thankfully, Joroto is extremely cooperative towards its customers and does not hesitate to replace faulty bikes. However, you will have to disassemble the bike and ship it back, which would require some effort.

Our Rating: 4.6/5

Our Verdict:

Joroto spin bikes deserve better ratings than what we have given but we don’t like that the display is not backlit and the water bottle holder is poorly designed. Otherwise, this bike will definitely be a great investment for your health.

Wrap up

Spin bikes provide low-impact and yet effective workouts. They are suitable for people of all age groups, as they do not strain your knees and ankles like other cardio and aerobic exercises do.

While spinning is safe, you need to be careful of the resistance. New users often get tempted to overdo it and end up with sore muscles the next day.

If you use too much resistance to get that ‘riding through concrete’ feel, you will strain your ankles and lower back. This is because when your resistance level is uncomfortable, you will be using your lower back and ankle muscles and not your glutes, hamstrings, and quads. If you use too little resistance, you will end up sitting relaxed on the saddle, leaving the momentum of the flywheel to do the work for you instead of utilizing your muscles. Always choose a resistance level that challenges you mildly, so you engage the right muscle groups.

If you are looking for some more inexpensive low-impact workout equipment, we highly recommend resistance bands and loop bands. Also, if you have soreness in leg muscles after an intense spinning session, try using a Chirogun massage gun or Homech massage gun to get rid of the tightness and knots.
